The six-month "Microlubricity Test System for Fuel Evaluation" project will develop a new sensing system capable of quickly and accurately measuring fluid lubricity lu·bric·i·ty

 using MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) Tiny mechanical devices that are built onto semiconductor chips and are measured in micrometers. In the research labs since the 1980s, MEMS devices began to materialize as commercial products in the mid-1990s.  technology patented by ISSYS ISSYS Integrated Sensing Systems . Similar MEMS technology from ISSYS has already been used to produce density, specific gravity and chemical concentration meters.
