Integrated Circuit Systems Appoints Dr. Nam P. Suh to Its Board of Directors.

VALLEY FORGE, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 2000

Integrated Circuit Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:ICST) today announced that Professor Nam P. Suh has been appointed to the company's Board of Directors.

Dr. Suh's appointment to the Board is expected to receive shareholder approval in November.

Dr. Suh is the head of the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Director of the Manufacturing Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Dr. Suh is a world-renowned authority on manufacturing technology and processes and was the founding director of the MIT Laboratory for Manufacturing and Productivity and is a member of the Engineering Council of MIT.

Prior to joining the MIT faculty, Dr. Suh was with the University of South Carolina, the USM Corporation and Guild Plastics Inc. He has received numerous awards including the William T. Ennor Manufacturing Technology Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Federal Engineer of the year award from the NSPE, the National Science Foundation Distinguished Service Award and the Mensforth International Gold Medal from the Institution of Electrical Engineers of the United Kingdom. He holds three honorary doctorates, including one from the Royal Institute of Technology of Sweden.

Dr. Suh is the author of more than 230 papers and four books on various topics such as Axiomatic Design and Tribophysics. He also holds over forty patents. Dr. Suh received his undergraduate degree from MIT and Doctorate from Carnigie Mellon University. Currently Dr. Suh serves on the Board of Directors for Trexel Inc., Silicon Valley Group Inc. and Axiom Design Software Inc.
