 Properties, Ltd. (BPG), a private equity real estate fund manager, announced that General Re has executed a 38,215 s/f, long-term lease renewal at 35 Nutmeg Drive, a 278,655 s/f office/flex building situated within Trumbull Corporate Park in Trumbull, Connecticut Trumbull is a town in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 34,243 at the 2000 census. History

Tom O'Leary of Cushman & Wakefield represented General Re in the lease negotiations. The landlord, an affiliate of BPG, was represented by the exclusive leasing agent, Paul Kauffman of Cushman & Wakefield.

, but ultimately decided that it was in their best interest to renew at 35 Nutmeg Drive," explained Tom O'Leary, senior director of Cushman & Wakefield who represented the tenant in the transaction. "The property offers a great working environment in a convenient and accessible location for its employees." Gen Re is one of the largest reinsurers worldwide. In addition to being a market leader in the US, Gen Re is represented in all major reinsurance The contract made between an insurance company and a third party to protect the insurance company from losses. The contract provides for the third party to pay for the loss sustained by the insurance company when the company makes a payment on the original contract.  markets through a global network in 67 locations, supported by over 2500 employees worldwide. The company has been a tenant at 35 Nutmeg Drive for the past ten years and occupies space in the building, where it houses its information technology functions.

"We believe that General Re's decision to remain long-term at 35 Nutmeg Drive demonstrates the attractiveness of the building's location as well as our commitment to providing professional, responsive management to our tenants."

35 Nutmeg Drive is a three-story office/flex building situated on 19 acres within Trumbull Corporate Park, a 1.25 million square foot corporate park located at the intersection of Merritt Parkway  and Route 8 in Trumbull. The building offers a combination of office and flex space Flex space is a term used for lightly zoned buildings. It is mainly used when referring to industrial or office space. History
Flex space evolved from light industrial warehouses being converted to office space.
