Insurer Gets New Leader.


21st Century Insurance Group named a former Allstate Corp. executive to the posts of president and chief executive, a move signaling that the Woodland Hills-based company is pursuing an aggressive growth strategy, analysts said.

The selection of Bruce Marlow comes after the sudden resignation last month of William Mellick, president of 21st Century since 1994 and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  since 1995.

Analysts said Mellick's departure is another sign that insurance giant American International Group
