Instron's new Digital Controller.

With FastTrack 88800, Instron give the user the opportunity to choose, because they have brought out their 8800LT controller, as the latest addition to the family of FastTrack 8800 controllers.

The company's unified controller philosophy benefits from common hardware and software, minimizing training requirements, whilst extending flexibility and choice.

8800LT is a stand-alone, single axis digital controller with integral Graphical User Interface. Whilst standard features are ideal for simple tests, advanced functions can be accessed with optional firmware keys for increased capability.

8800LT's GUI gives access to all test and set-up parameters through simple menus. The GUI can optionally be configured as a fully featured two-channel oscilloscope with storage capability.

Four transducers can be connected with "bumpless" control mode transfer. Basic cyclic and ramp waveforms are available from the internal function generator, yet more complex waveforms can purchased as an option.

They tell us that loop tuning is easy with the standard oscilloscope and the company' Autotuning and Adaptive Control features are optionally available, as is software control that allows full access to Instron's FastTrack 2 applications suite.

Accurate measurement is necessary for good results, and the 8800LT makes use of patented digital measurement technology with full range 19-bit resolution. Four analogue outputs are available as standard for connection to external data logging, and full PC data logging is available as an option, say Instron Ltd of Coronation Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, tel:0149 446 4646.
