Instron's ElectroPuls system offers a new solution for biomedical testing.Instron, a provider of testing equipment designed to evaluate mechanical properties of materials and components, has launched ElectroPuls, an electrodynamic test instrument for a wide range of biomedical testing requirements. According to the company, the state-of-the-art ElectroPuls systems are ideally suited for biomedical test laboratories. With a wide dynamic performance range and excellent low force characteristics, the systems enable a myriad of mechanical tests to be conducted. From evaluating the tensile strength of sutures to durability testing of fracture fixation devices, the ElectroPuls systems provide a single superior testing platform. The systems are non-hydraulic, air-cooled and use a single-phase electrical supply, so may be placed virtually anywhere, the company said. Two different system capacities are available: the E1000 (1000 N) and E3000 (3000 N). According to the company, both models offer easy installation, high performance, robustness and flexibility in their testing systems. The instruments incorporate user-orientated features: an innovative tuning wizard to ensure achievement of critical loads, a T-slot table for flexible test setups and electrically operated crosshead lifts.
