RICHMOND, Va. -- Insmed, Inc (NASDAQ: INSM) today announced that investigators from the University of Cambridge, UK, will be presenting new results on the safety and efficacy of its insulin-like growth factor drug, IPLEX(TM) (mecasermin rinfabate (rDNA origin) injection), in patients with severe insulin resistance syndromes at the annual meeting of the Endocrine Society in Boston, MA. This platform presentation will be given on Tuesday, June 27 at 11:30 a.m., Room 206 of the Boston Convention and Exhibit Center. The title of the talk is:

Syndromes of Severe Insulin Resistance appear to result from genetic defects in the insulin receptor or insulin action pathways. In addition to insulin resistance and glucose intolerance or overt diabetes, these syndromes share a number of common features including variable degrees of hyperandrogenism, hirsutism, and dysmorphic features.
