 Financial Group, Inc. announced that a partnership in which the company is a substantial minority investor has sold the Fresh Meadows Apartments, a 3,285-unit, 140-building residential housing complex in Queens, New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
, for $270 million.

, a partnership that includes Insignia Financial Group, The Witkoff Group, Lehman Brothers Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. (NYSE: LEH), founded in 1850, is a diversified, global financial services firm. It is a participant in investment banking, equity and fixed income sales, research and trading, investment management, private equity, and private banking.  and Cammeby's International, purchased Fresh Meadows Apartments in 1997. Queens Fresh Meadows, LLC was the purchaser of the property, one of the largest residential housing complexes in Queens.

Insignia's share of the $270 million sale price includes a pre-tax capital gain of approximately $10 million (approximately $6 million after-tax). The gain will be reflected in Insignia's fourth quarter and year-end 2000 reports.
