Insignia Solutions(R) (NASDAQ:INSGY), the leading provider of accelerated Java solutions for Internet appliances and embedded devices, announced today that its channel partner Victor Data Systems (VDS), a leading developer of computer software and peripherals, and subsidiary of JVC, will begin shipping Jeode(TM) technology with its own Embedded VIEW windowing system, beginning in December. VDS is combining Embedded VIEW with Jeode technology to create the "Jeode Solution Package" -- a simple Java-based graphical user interface environment that can be used for all portable information devices and Java-enabled telephones.

The comprehensive VDS solution addresses the need for a standard graphical user interface for the Java technology-based environment and embedded real-time operating systems that is suitable for these resource-constrained devices, while also providing a fully-compatible, accelerated Java run-time environment. Initially, an ITRON-powered version of the "Jeode Solution Package" will be available in December. VDS plans to release subsequent versions of the "Jeode Solution Package" that will be compatible with a wide variety of operating systems and processors.

Jeode Platform
