Insession Joins SilverStream Partner Program to Provide Application Server/Transaction Processing Integration.

BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 13, 1998--Insession Inc. Tuesday announced that it has partnered with SilverStream to enable customers to integrate multiple legacy transaction processing Updating the appropriate database records as soon as a transaction (order, payment, etc.) is entered into the computer. It may also imply that confirmations are sent at the same time.

applications, instead of the IBM EPI/ECI APIs. This has been done in order to fully support transaction integrity, a key attribute of the TransFuse implementation.

"We are very pleased to now support SilverStream with TransFuse," said Mark Hutchens, chief executive officer of Insession. "SilverStream has put together partnerships with many of the leading middleware providers and the addition of TransFuse ensures that SilverStream will be able to address the broadest mix of customer deployment issues."

TransFuse will support users of SilverStream's Application Server as they create new business applications spanning multiple instances of CICS as well as multiple instances of TP monitors. With the additional support for both IMS and Pathway, users can deploy the SilverStream Application Server into networks where such legacy applications continue to run.

"TransFuse now gives us access to more TP environments as well as providing the support for Two Phase commit -- something extremely important to the financial and retail world and to the world of e-commerce," said Bill Critch, SilverStream's director of alliance marketing. "A large proportion of these communities still rely on combinations of large IBM and Tandem mainframes to do the bulk of their mission-critical transaction processing."
