Inphi(R) Corporation Configurable Registered Buffer Exceeds DDR3-1600 Rates; Sets High Performance Standard.

Inphi's ExacTik([R]) Family Of Precision Timing Devices Continues to Drive Next Generation RDIMMS - DDR (Double Data Rate) Refers to an SDRAM memory chip that increases performance by doubling the effective data rate of the frontside bus. For more details, see SDRAM.

DDR - Double Data Rate Random Access Memory
3-800 to DDR3-1600.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. -- Leveraging its leadership position in memory timing logic, Inphi[R] Corporation (www.inphi-corp.com) today introduced the world's first JEDEC The division of the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) that deals with semiconductor standards (officially, the JEDEC Solid State Technology Association of EIA). JEDEC was formed in 1958 when the Joint Electron Tube Engineering Council (JETEC) split into two Joint Electron Device  compliant Double Data Rate (DDR3) Configurable Integrated Register device. A member of the Inphi ExacTik[R] Family of industry-leading precision timing devices, the new INSSTE32882 sets a high performance standard and extends Inphi's market leadership in DDR2 PLL PLL - phase-locked loop  and registered buffers.

The Inphi INSSTE32882 supports all existing DDR3-800, DDR3-1066, DDR3-1333 standards as well as proposed standards for server memory operating at DDR3-1600 rates. This new registered buffer is the first DDR3-1600 solution available for immediate use in the world's most advanced and demanding high performance workstations and servers, and high reliability systems.

"Inphi's SSTE32882 Register Device represents an important first step in preparing the industry for designing platforms requiring DDR3 RDIMM RDIMM Registered Dual In-Line Memory Module

memory in next generation servers," said Mian Quddus, Chairman of the JEDEC Board of Directors and Technical Marketing Director, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. "Early availability of these devices ensures that manufacturers will be able to transition smoothly to mass production of next generation servers employing DDR3 memory."

Unlike other proposed solutions, the innovative INSSTE32882 exhibits the lowest propagation delay in the industry, giving module manufacturers the highest margin in production. The INSSTE32882 has a typical propagation delay of 0.7 nS, well below the JEDEC proposed specification of 1.1 nS. In addition, since the INSSTE32882 meets DDR3-800 to DDR3-1600 rates it allows memory vendors to use a single register for all four speed grades reducing costs and reducing the bill of materials The list of components that make up a system. For example, a bill of materials for a house would include the cement block, lumber, shingles, doors, windows, plumbing, electric, heating and so on. . "Our new configurable registered buffer significantly broadens our market lead, making Inphi the world's first logic vendor to deliver a JEDEC compliant DDR3 Register Device," said Gopal Raghavan, CTO (Chief Technical Officer) The executive responsible for the technical direction of an organization. See CIO and salary survey.  of Inphi Corporation. "The INSSTE32882 highlights our commitment to working closely with JEDEC and our customers to consistently meet and exceed JEDEC specifications, while drawing on our technology and manufacturing expertise to deliver the world's highest precision solutions."

The INSSTE32882 is manufactured in a cost effective 0.18 micron technology and allowing Inphi to meet aggressive pricing targets expected by computer OEMs. The new configurable registered buffer is available in a 176 Ball LFBGA LFBGA Low-Profile Fine-Pitch Ball-Grid Array

Price and Availability

The Inphi INSSTE32882 is currently shipping in pre-production quantities with pricing starting at $5.80 in quantities of 2,000 units. For more information e-mail: exactik@inphi-corp.com.

The ExacTik Family

Inphi's ExacTik family of CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) Pronounced "c-moss." The most widely used integrated circuit design. It is found in almost every electronic product from handheld devices to mainframes.  timing devices for computing applications is the most comprehensive and highest performing in the industry. Every part meets or exceeds JEDEC specifications and delivers accuracy required at low-cost for next generation DDR2 and DDr3 applications. The ExacTik family includes timing devices for memory clocking, and other server, workstation and notebook applications and is characterized by the highest performance in terms of jitter A flicker or fluctuation in a transmission signal or display image. The term is used in several ways, but it always refers to some offset of time and space from the norm. For example, in a network transmission, jitter would be a bit arriving either ahead or behind a standard clock cycle , slew rates, lock times and skew (1) The misalignment of a document or punch card in the feed tray or hopper that prohibits it from being scanned or read properly.

(2) In facsimile, the difference in rectangularity between the received and transmitted page.
