Innovus Corp. Announces Early Availability of BASE; New Training and Information Process Management Tool.

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 10, 1995--Innovus Corp. today announced the launch and early availability of BASE for Windows, the first interactive multimedia development tool for training and business information process management.

BASE combines the power of interactive multimedia with the latest information exchange technologies, such as Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) and Object Linking and Embedding (OLE), to turn costly, time- consuming training and management activities into dynamic, modifiable systems.

BASE allows users and solutions providers to develop custom applications to help employees learn and manage the information they need to do their jobs more productively and effectively. Complicated tasks can be handled by less experienced employees because they have been provided with a controlled, step-by-step process. Managers are freed from routine and recurring processes to focus on mission-critical activities.

BASE is comprised of three major components:

Multimedia Communication - Functions enable users to easily incorporate video, sound, graphics, animation, and text; develop timed or event-driven media and data elements; create simple animations; and use all major media file formats.

Conditional Interactivity - Functions make it easy to design quizzes, survey questions, or other conditional events to trigger a move to any part of the program based on individual choices and input. The user can create simple linear or complex non-linear links between screens and develop conditional response links with point-and-click ease.

Information Exchange Technology - Functions make it easy to control the way information is delivered, captured, exchanged, and stored. The user can create forms and link fields to any ODBC-compliant database; create menu-based interfaces for easy data access; link to other OLE-compatible software applications; create dynamic documents and print them in the finished application; and deploy the finished application across a network or single workstation.
