IVAN FILION, executive director of research technology, advanced learning, and his colleagues invented a motion activated video remote camera controller to monitor elk elk, name applied to several large members of the deer family. It most properly designates the largest member of the family, Alces alces, found in the northern regions of Eurasia and North America. In North America this animal is called moose.  and bears with an activated passive infrared motion detector A motion detector is a device that contains a physical mechanism or electronic sensor that quantifies motion that can be either integrated with or connected to other devices that alert the user of the presence of a moving object within the field of view. .
