Innovating with veg.

THE North East is proud of its heritage for engineering innovation, so Scott Racing's mind-boggling car made out of vegetables is following in a rich tradition by being named one of Time magazine's top 50 inventions of the year.

Its Formula 3 car, which does not create pollution and biodegrades when its racing days are over, might not be as well known as some of the other inventions on this prestigious list.

But it isn't the only one with North East connections - as Nissan's Leaf electric car is also honoured.
