RALEIGH, N.C. -- Inlet Technologies, a leading provider of professional encoding solutions for next-generation content distribution, today announced plans to expand its international presence and deliver technology innovation to the European media and entertainment industries. This week, Inlet will return to Amsterdam for the International Broadcasters Convention (IBC), Europe's premiere event for video content delivery, where it will demonstrate the latest release of its flagship Fathom(TM) encoding solution for VC-1 and Windows Media Video (WMV), unveil an industry-first Quality Control software application, and foster new partnerships with international resellers and business leaders.

When Fathom launched a year ago at IBC 2004, it made news as the world's first real-time encoding platform for WMV/VC-1 high definition video. This year Inlet will showcase its new product enhancements in live, end-to-end encoding workflow demonstrations, highlighting some of today's most relevant applications for next generation content management. These demonstrations will mirror real-life workflow scenarios to illustrate how Fathom's powerful hardware engine helps content creators, editors and video engineers meet real-life deadlines, realizing a 12 to 1 or greater improvement in production time. In addition, Inlet will demonstrate how Fathom's analytic tools enable greater control, so video professionals can exercise the finesse needed to deliver superior content in applications such as HD DVD, Blu-Ray, video-on-demand, IPTV, digital signage, etc.

Inlet returns to Europe building on the strong momentum generated in the US, where it quickly established itself as the leader in high-quality advanced encoding solutions for post production houses and studios working with VC-1 and WMV content. Inlet has secured predominant industry partners such as Microsoft, HP, AMD, THX and Sonic Solutions and has built a broad customer portfolio including Akimbo, Modern VideoFilm, CinemaNow and Microsoft Studios. Its Fathom product earned industry validation from millimeter magazine as one of its NAB 2005 Pick Hits. In addition, the company recently closed a $5 million round of venture financing and expanded its management team.
