SAVVIS Communications to Use Inkra's Virtual Service Switches to Slash Costs and Expand Intelligent Hosting Service Offerings Worldwide

Following quickly on the heels of its multi-million-dollar international partnership with NEC Systems Integration, Inkra Networks today announced a major U.S. win -- a multi-million-dollar purchase agreement from SAVVIS Communications (Nasdaq:SVVS). Inkra will deliver the first four Inkra 4000 Virtual Service Switches (VSSs) immediately. SAVVIS, a global managed IP VPN and managed hosting services provider, chose the Inkra VSS because of its ability to deliver high quality IP services, automate data center operations, and dramatically lower operational costs. SAVVIS will use the Inkra products in its data centers worldwide to enhance tailored Intelligent Hosting Solutions(SM) for financial service and enterprise customers.

SAVVIS currently provides private network and managed hosting services to nearly 1,500 enterprise customers worldwide. The company reported revenues of $243 million in 2001, gaining cash-flow-positive status and recognition as one of the most successful service providers in the industry.
