Initiate Systems' Healthcare Practice Continues Dominance in the EMPI Market.
Initiate Systems, Inc., a leading provider of Enterprise Master Person Index (EMPI) software and services for managing patient and provider identities, today announced its continued success in the healthcare marketplace. Initiate Systems' second quarter of 2004 successes included:
--A host of new customer wins including LifeBridge and Banner Health, and extensions of existing relationships with other organizations, including Sutter Health
--A bilateral agreement with Canada Health Infoway, a Canadian organization that is spearheading, including partially funding, the creation of a national electronic health record for Canada
--A reseller agreement with Agfa Corporation, one of the world's leading imaging companies
--Strategic partnership agreements with several leading systems integrators
Additionally, during the second quarter, KLAS Enterprises, a leading healthcare research and consulting firm recognized Initiate Systems as the leader in customer satisfaction for the EMPI market for the sixth consecutive time.
LifeBridge, a regional healthcare organization based in Baltimore, selected Initiate Systems based on its healthcare knowledge and expertise. LifeBridge purchased Initiate(SM) JumpStart and Initiate(SM) Data Quality Remediation Service to ensure the integrity of medical records prior to the deployment of Cerner Millennium.
"Initiate Systems' experience in healthcare and well-known reputation for success provided us with confidence in our decision to select them for our data integrity initiative," said Karen Barker, chief information officer of LifeBridge. "The project will address potential duplicate medical records, reducing existing and potential errors, while providing clean and accurate patient data that will inevitably lead to improved patient care."
Initiate Systems also gained momentum with current customers in Q2, including Sutter Health, which expanded its use of Initiate Identity Hub(TM) software into additional areas of the organization. Impressed by the success of Initiate Systems' EMPI solution, Sutter expanded the product's implementation to support a portal application that will provide lookup and display of radiology images from up to six major service areas across its enterprise. Sutter is now able to provide real time views of radiology images through use of the portal application and matching capabilities provided by Initiate Identity Hub(TM) software.
"Initiate Systems has consistently displayed an exceptional and unmatched ability to integrate patient data across disparate systems," said Debbie Sleigh, chief information officer at Sutter Health. "We wanted to build upon the current success we have experienced with Initiate Identity Hub(TM) software by using the product to manage the numerous radiology images we are tracking within our picture archiving and communications system (PACS)."
In addition to the numerous customer wins in the second quarter, Initiate Systems signed two strategic partnerships. Canada Health Infoway joined forces with Initiate Systems in order to accelerate the development of Canada-wide electronic health records (EHR). Initiate Systems will work with Infoway to provide a client registry solution that can instantly and accurately link data about patients, providers and healthcare facilities across all delivery points. Initiate Systems also signed related strategic partnerships with leading systems integrators. The integrators will train on implementation of Initiate Systems' EMPI later this year.
Initiate Systems also formed an agreement with Agfa Corporation. Agfa will offer Initiate Systems' MPI solution as an integrated component of its IMPAX(R) Enterprise Image Management solution. The partnership enables Agfa to unify cross-facility management of patients' imaging studies across Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) to provide a complete IDN solution for diagnostic imaging.
Industry recognition of Initiate Systems' healthcare success and expertise
Initiate Identity Hub(TM) software, included in the KLAS Healthcare IT Top 20 reports, was once again ranked HIT's best EMPI solution. For the sixth consecutive time, over the course of three years, Initiate Systems' EMPI solution has received this recognition based upon our clients confidential performance ratings submitted to KLAS. The "Top 20 Mid-Year Report Card" reflects the summaries of Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) companies and related product performance data as reported by 4500+ acute care facilities and IDNs, plus 1400+ clinics. The award recognizes the value that Initiate Systems' EMPI solution brings to its customers. The solution provides complete, accurate and up-to-date data to organizations on demand, ultimately leading to increased patient satisfaction.
The industry also continues to recognize the expertise of Initiate Systems' staff. Michele O'Connor, senior manager of MPI for Initiate Systems was installed as 2004-2005 president of the New Jersey Health Information Management Association (NJHIMA). The position of NJHIMA president is testament to O'Connor's industry knowledge and expertise in healthcare information.
In addition, during Q2 Initiate Systems created a vice president of sales position to support its continued efforts in the Healthcare market. Michael Previti, one of the leaders of Initiate Systems' Healthcare Practice, was recently promoted to fill the new position.
