Ingenhoven Overdiek: European Investment Bank, Luxembourg.


As with the majority of their work, energy efficiency was high on the agenda when Ingenhoven Overdiek considered the design of the new European Investment Bank European Investment Bank, nonprofit bank created in 1958 by the six founding countries of the European Economic Community (now part of the European Union [EU]).  in Luxembourg. The building design now proudly claims to be even more efficient than the Swiss standards. Beneath a radial diagrid Diagrid (a portmanteau of diagonal grid) is a design for constructing large buildings with steel that creates triangular structures with diagonal support beams. It requires less structural steel than a conventional steel frame.  structure--that recalls the glazed glaze

The heart has four chambers. The right and left atria are at the top of the heart and receive returning blood from the veins. The right and left ventricles are at the bottom of the heart and act as the body's main pumps.
