The term post-processing (or postproc for short) is used in the video/film business for quality-improvement methods used in video playback devices, (such as stand-alone DVD-Video players), and video players software and transcoding , multi-speed audio encoding--so as to address current and future automotive infotainment requirements. Future? It has software features that permit implementation of audio and video codecs as they become available, as well as the ability to add additional multimedia features.
