Educational Publications

ANNUAL BUYERS & SPECIFIERS GUIDE TO PARTICLEBOARD AND MDF

Included in the publication are descriptions of particleboard and MDF applications. It also provides a detailed guide to the products of CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000.  members, which are listed by company and mill. The publication guides the user to the appropriate products for almost every end-use. The 2002 edition, as well as French and Spanish versions. will be available online at www.pbmdf.com this spring.

RELATED ARTICLE: THE SECOND COMING OF 2nd WAVE

Five years ago, the Composite Panel Association launched "Second Wave," a semi-annual publication aimed at educating architects, designers and specifiers about the versatility of industrial composite panels and highlighting their use in innovative applications.

Feature articles have focused on everything from using MDF for architectural mouldings and high-end home theatre projects to agrifiber panel applications and innovative decorative laminates.

The 10th edition of "Second Nave nave (nāv), in general, all that part of a church that extends from the atrium to the altar and is intended exclusively for the laity. In a strictly architectural sense, however, the term indicates only the central aisle, excluding side aisles. ," set to mail in early spring, will feature a bold new design and expand from a 4-page tabloid newsletter to a 16 page standard-sized magazine, similar to the dimensions of this page.

The new magazine will be distributed at no charge to approximately 40,000 architects, designers, retailers, specifiers, homebuilders and instructors at educational institutions which offer programs in these fields.

The upcoming issue of "Second Wave" will include feature articles on the creative use of MDF in world-renowned jeweler David Sacco's Maui boutique, particleboard's key role in California Closets' modular systems, an award-winning Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Humanity, nonprofit ecumenical Christian organization that enables low-income people to own affordable, livable housing. Headquartered in Americus, Ga., it was founded in 1976 by businessman Millard Fuller and his wife.  home's use of composite panels, and why artist and master furnituremaker Danielle Carignan prefers MDF as her medium of choice.

The Composite Panel Association recently gave its website -- www.pbmdf.com - a facelift. The redesigned site is simple to navigate and includes many enhanced features for visitors and members. They include:

Enhanced Member Pages - Member descriptions, logos and contact information are now available to site viewers. In addition, reports are also available to members detailing their member page statistics.
