It has only recently gotten attention and very little real scientific research has been conducted. syndrome (MdDS)--a disorder recognized by the Vestibular ves·tib·u·lar adj. Of, relating to, or serving as a vestibule, especially of the ear. Vestibular Pertaining to the vestibule; regarding the vestibular nerve of the ear which is linked to the ability to hear sounds. This is largely because vestibular test results are negative in patients with this disorder. This persistent loss of equilibrium has no known cure and can be extremely disabling. It usually follows a cruise or other motion experience. The sensation of rocking, a major symptom, lasts for months or years.
