Usage Note: Awhile, an adverb, is never preceded by a preposition such as for, but the two-word form a while may be preceded by a preposition.
 now, due to a John Birch Society John Birch Society, ultraconservative, anti-Communist organization in the United States. It was founded in Dec., 1958, by manufacturer Robert Welch and named after John Birch, an American intelligence officer killed by Communists in China (Aug., 1945).  member bringing his copy to work and allowing me to read its contents. No, I'm not a "Bircher," nor do I currently intend to join. However, I thought you might like to know that others do have similar ideals to what your group does, and occasionally take action on them.

Enclosed you will find a copy of a letter I received from my congresswoman pursuant to the "assault weapons ban" that ex-President Clinton signed. Additionally, you'll find my response to her when I found she was not voting as I had asked her to.

Who knows, if it was possible to get a lifelong Democrat to order your magazine for another perspective, maybe it's also possible to get our "representatives" to start thinking for themselves instead of marching along like the party's good little soldiers.
