Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq:GRIC), a leading global provider of secure mobility and remote access solutions for distributed enterprises, today announced an expansion of their existing relationship to include both Wi-Fi and broadband Ethernet services. Under the agreement, Infonet will incorporate new services provided through the GRIC TierOne Network(TM) into its previously announced MobileXpress(TM) mobility services. Infonet already uses GRIC's global dial-up network (1) The switched telephone network regulated by government and administered by common carriers. Also called "plain old telephone system" (POTS) and "public switched telephone network" (PSTN).

to extend the reach of its remote access services (communications) Remote Access Services - (RAS) A service provided by Windows NT which allows most of the services which would be available on a network to be accessed over a modem link. .

The GRIC TierOne Network currently has more than 3,000 active Wi-Fi and Ethernet access locations in 20 countries, in addition to more than 35,000 dial-up locations in 150 countries. GRIC has also signed agreements with 48 Wi-Fi service providers in 32 countries, and is rapidly bringing additional Wi-Fi access locations on-line around the globe.

By combining GRIC's Wi-Fi hotspots with those gained through Infonet's previously announced Wi-Fi agreements, Infonet's MobileXpress service will provide mobile workers with secure access to more than 6,000 hotspots in 25 countries, a number that is projected to grow to more than 20,000 hotspots in 40 countries in 2004.

"The growth of our relationship with GRIC further underscores Infonet's commitment to next-generation mobility," said Jose Collazo, Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of Infonet. "GRIC has enabled us to extend the reach of our Internet remote access services, and we see GRIC's strategy of diversified access to be very beneficial to our strategy."

"Infonet's focus on multinational enterprises has made them an ideal partner for GRIC," said Bharat Dave, President and Chief Executive Officer of GRIC Communications. "Our expanded agreement strongly aligns our strategies in offering a broad range of access options to mobile workers."

Infonet and GRIC also have a shared commitment to standards and the promotion of interoperability, as demonstrated by their membership and active roles in the Wi-Fi Alliance (Wi-Fi Alliance, Austin, TX, www.wi-fi.org) A membership organization founded in 1999 devoted to certifying 802.11 wireless Ethernet devices for interoperability. "Both of our companies have actively supported the certification of wireless equipment as a means to accelerate mobile enterprise remote access," said Greg Hayes, Infonet's Director of Marketing for Mobility Services and Infonet's principal representative to the Wi-Fi Alliance. "We will continue to jointly support the Wi-Fi ZONE See Wi-Fi Alliance.  program and other activities that promote awareness and certification of public access hotspots."

With MobileXpress, enterprise clients will gain the benefits of unified billing, unified identity for their end-users and strong international coverage. Aligned with Infonet's security services Security services are state institutions for the provision of intelligence, primarily of a strategic nature, but also including protective security intelligence. Examples include the Security Service (MI5) and the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) in the United Kingdom, and the  portfolio, clients will also benefit from strong authentication (1) Verifying the integrity of a transmitted message. Infonet's MobileXpress services will be packaged as fully managed end-to-end mobility solutions to provide maximum value to clients.

Because there are no standard authorization protocols for the Wi-Fi industry, each wireless service provider implements its own authorization methodology. GRIC's service provides a customized integration and interoperability specification that will allow Infonet to implement GRIC's authorization methodology. This specification has the potential to ease administrative issues connected with offering the service.

GRIC will provide Infonet a customized solution that will enable it to integrate into its traditional remote access software any hotspot in the world that is currently certified by GRIC and is part of the GRIC TierOne Network. This helps Infonet avoid having to modify its systems and MobileXpress service repeatedly to interoperate with a variety of wireless service providers.

MobileXpress Wi-Fi services will be globally available in the first quarter of 2004.
