Infonet also received a second nomination in the Best Customer Care category previously announced last month.

The final winners of the WCA, which were designed to recognize the communication industry's recognition of excellence, will be officially announced at a gala dinner for 500 industry delegates on November 14 in Monaco. The award ceremony also takes place on the first evening of CommsLive.Europe, the new communications event being held November 14-16.

In the Best Carrier category, Infonet was sponsored by Cisco Systems, the organization's exclusive provider of router technology. The two other major category nominations include Best New Carrier and Best Wireless/Mobile Operator.

Two methods are used to determine the winners of the World Communication Awards: the Winning Carriers Survey, which is an in-depth study of the views of 65,000 industry executives, including 15,000 enterprise users that select the Best Carrier, New Carrier and Wireless/Mobile Operator categories. Separately, an adjudicated judging process determines the winners of the remaining eight categories, which includes Best Customer Care.
