Infonet Announces Immediate Global Availability of World's First Ubiquitous V.90 Capable Remote Access Network Service Offering.
Infonet Services Corp., a leading provider of global communications services, Tuesday announced that it has completed upgrading its dial-IP infrastructure and now offers support of both V.90 and K56flex technologies.
This makes Infonet the first global Remote Access service provider to offer 100% ubiquitous support of V.90 across all published rotaries.
According to Marc Patterson, director of Remote Access Services, mobile users are increasingly demanding faster speeds and reliable performance when they travel. "Infonet continues to invest in its dial infrastructure to ensure that it supports our clients' needs," commented Patterson.
Infonet clients will now be able to establish modem connections at up to 56Kb, improving both their Internet and intranet connections. With recent international expansion completed, Infonet clients in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Peru and Venezuela, will also now be able to access DialXpress and Internet dial services in their respective countries at these higher speeds.
"As applications take advantage of imaging, multimedia and graphics, they are becoming increasingly bandwidth-intensive," remarked Kathryn A. Weldon, program manager, Data Communications Research and Consulting with The Yankee Group.
With remote users needing equal access to corporate LAN-based data as those of their more stationary counterparts, it is critical for service providers to provide high-speed dial-up connectivity via the fastest possible connections. "Infonet is already a leader in international remote access solutions and is meeting this challenge by providing high-speed connectivity throughout the world," Weldon concluded.
Infonet has delivered dial solutions to customers around the world for two decades and was the first global provider of PPP dial solutions, offering these services beginning in 1992. "The completion of this upgrade further demonstrates Infonet's commitment to provide high performance dial solutions via modem, ISDN and wireless services to its clients," commented Patterson.
Infonet's DialXpress dial-IP services are available in 49 countries today and support clients worldwide on a 24x7 basis.
Infonet is a world leader in providing global communications services to multinational enterprises. Infonet provides frame relay, Internet, intranet, electronic commerce, integrated voice/data solutions and a full suite of messaging and collaborative products and services.
Infonet's services are supported locally in more than 60 countries. The World Network from Infonet is currently accessible from more than 180 countries. News and information are available at www.infonet.com.
