Infomosaic Announces Successful Roll Out of Its HSPD-12/FIPS-201 Compliant PIV Registration System at MDOT.SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Infomosaic Corporation today announced the successful roll out of its HSPD-12/FIPS-201 Compliant PIV Registration System at Maryland Department of Transportation The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is a government agency in the U.S. state of Maryland. MDOT is overseen by Transportation Secretary John D. Porcari, whom had previously served as the Secretary prior to his current term, from 1999 to 2003. The Infomosaic PIV Registration System allows agencies to customize the PIV registration form using HTML HTML in full HyperText Markup Language Markup language derived from SGML that is used to prepare hypertext documents. Relatively easy for nonprogrammers to master, HTML is the language used for documents on the World Wide Web. , while it keeps all form data in industry standard XML format. It utilizes FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) A series of publications issed by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) that specifies information security guidelines for federal government departments and agencies. 201 roles of Sponsor, Applicant, Registrar, Issuer and & Signatory. The system allows inclusion of biometric data as mandated by the FIPS-201 standard along with the form data. The system creates FASC-N FASC-N Federal Agency Smart Credential Number and CHUID CHUID Cardholder Unique Identifier as per the FIPS-201 requirements and prepares signed biometric and signed CHUID along with smart card print data in a format which can readily be processed by various smart card manufacturers. The Infomosaic PIV Registration System consists of the following components: 1. Infomosaic SecureWebsign Workflow Server 2. Infomosaic FASC-N Web Service 3. Biometric Data and CHUID Signing Application 4. Card Manufacturer Data File Generation System which integrated with Card Management System via LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) A protocol used to access a directory listing. LDAP support is implemented in Web browsers and e-mail programs, which can query an LDAP-compliant directory.
