Business/Technology Editors

WINNIPEG, Manitoba & FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 2001--

-- Companies collaborate to develop new products for growing

e-government service markets worldwide --

Infocorp Computer Solutions Ltd. (TSE: INP) (Infocorp), a leading provider of revenue management and electronic service delivery solutions for e-government and e-retail, and Covansys Corporation (Nasdaq: CVNS), a global technology services company, today announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will enhance the companies' roles as software solutions providers in government motor vehicle departments and other government markets worldwide.

As per the terms of the MOU, Infocorp agrees to identify opportunities where its front-end solutions, including Point of Sale, Fee Collection and Cash Management, can add value to various government customers in combination with the state and local government related system integration capabilities of Covansys. Covansys agrees to identify similar opportunities within its customer base for Infocorp. Furthermore, both companies have agreed to collaboratively investigate joint development of product strategies, concepts, demonstrations and marketing programs.

"We believe that this MOU will lead to the development of a number of business opportunities that will incorporate Infocorp's products in a number of large scale solutions," said Dwayne Mathers, CEO of Infocorp. "Covansys is an established leader in implementing online government solutions at both the state and local level and we are very pleased to be part of their go-to-market strategy."

"Infocorp's proven technology, flexibility in product architecture and their experience in working with the large scale transaction requirements of state and local governments were key driving factors behind the MOU," said Harvey Levin, vice president of Covansys' State and Local Government practice. "Our solid reputation is based on our ability to help our clients bridge their existing legacy systems and rapidly develop leading-edge e-business solutions. Infocorp's approach to multi-channel enterprise revenue management fits this vision and will help us reduce time-to-market and project costs on behalf of our clients."

For more than 16 years, Covansys has provided public sector solutions to more than 25 states in the areas of health and human services, transportation, public retirement systems, labor and tax and revenue systems.
