The company conducted the survey of 6,585 i-mode users in Japan from May 23 to 30. When asked when they brush their teeth, 62.7% answered after breakfast, followed by before bedtime (59.3%), after waking up (31.4%) and after lunch (29.9%). On average, they brush their teeth 2.4 times a day. When asked what qualities they find important in toothpaste, 54.2% mentioned anticavity effects, followed by the prevention of periodontal diseases and gingivitis gingivitis (jĭn'jəvī`tĭs), inflammation of the gums.
