Tokyo Tokyo (tō`kēō), city (1990 pop. 8,163,573), capital of Japan and of Tokyo prefecture, E central Honshu, at the head of Tokyo Bay. , Japan, Nov 8, 2005 - (JCNN JCNN Japan Corporate News Network ) - Online market researcher Info Plant has announced the results of a survey of 9,290 i-mode users on what they do on board a train, which was conducted from October October: see month.  11 to 18.

When asked if they use a train, 60.5% of the respondents In the context of marketing research, a representative sample drawn from a larger population of people from whom information is collected and used to develop or confirm marketing strategy.  replied they do. As for how long on board, 25.6% said "less than 15 minutes" and "30 to 60 minutes" each, followed by "15 to 30 minutes" (24.1%) and "60 to 90 minutes" (12.1%). This translates into about 75% of them being on board a train for less than an hour.

When asked about what they do, by sex, 66.2% of the male respondents answered "sleeping," followed by "viewing i-mode sites" (59.5%), "looking at ad posters" (58.4%), "emailing on mobile phone" (51.9%). More than 70% of the female respondents said "sleeping" and "emailing on mobile phone" (71.3% and 70.3%, respectively), followed by "talking with others" (67.2%) and "looking at ad posters" (64.2%).

More men and women in younger age groups favor "listening to music," "viewing i-mode sites," "emailing on mobile phone," "playing games on mobile phone," "chewing gums chewing gum, confection consisting usually of chicle, flavorings, and corn syrup and sugar (or artificial sweeteners). Prehistoric people are believed to have chewed resins.  and eating candies," and "talking with others." About 75% of the women in their 20s or younger answered "emailing," and more women in older age groups preferred "reading a book."

Of the respondents who ride a train for an hour or more a day, more than 80% answered "sleeping," followed by "emailing" (75%), and "viewing i-mode sites" (over 70%).
