Info Plant Survey: When - and How Often - Do Japanese Consumers Frequent Department Stores?Tokyo, Japan, Mar 1, 2006 - (JCN) - Online market researcher Info Plan has announced the results of a survey of 7,560 i-mode mobile phone users in Japan (34.1% male, 69.5% female) on how they use department stores. The survey was conducted between January 31 and February 7, 2006. Of the respondents, 25.3% answered that they go to a department store two or three times per month. 20.0% said once every two or three months, and 14.9% once a month. By gender, 61.6% of the female and 49.8% of the male respondents said that they go to a department store department store: see store. more than once a month. Specifically, 22.0% of the male respondents go to a department store once every two or three months, 20.4% two or three times per month, and 18.8% once every six months. Meanwhile, 27.8% of the female respondents drop by a department store two or three times per month, 19.0% once every two or three months and 12.7% once a week. When asked when they usually go to department stores, 38.6% answered between 12 noon and 6 PM on weekends, 38.6% between 2 and 5 PM on weekdays and 18.1% between 5 and 8 PM on weekdays.
