Info Plant Announces Results of Survey of Youth in East Asia on MP3 Players.

 (students and salaried workers) aged 15 to 30 (300 each from Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China) on use of MP players. The company conducted the survey from July 25 to August 9.

When asked about how long they listen to music using the MP3 player A digital music player that supports the MP3 format, which was the audio format that started a revolution in online music downloads and distribution. When asked about the makes of the players, respondents in Japan favor Apple the most (35.3% in Japan), while Chinese users choose Samsung (22.1%) and Korean users iriver (46.2%). In Taiwan, Apple and BenQ are equally chosen first at 11.6%.

When asked about what features they consider important in buying the player, all the respondents give memory capacity, price, battery life, and sound quality as their best 4 answers.

In Taiwan, Korea, and Japan, memory capacity was the top (84.0%, 85.7%, and 78.3%, respectively), while in China the most favored answer was sound quality (82.7%).

About 1/3 of the Korean respondents placed importance on optional features other than listening to music, a choice supported by only 15.0% and 9.0% of respondents in China and Japan, respectively. Also, recording was among the three most wanted Most Wanted may refer to:
