Infinity Leads US $2.7 Million Investment in ReDent-NOVA.

TEL AVIV, Israel -- Infinity Venture Capital announced today it is leading a $2.7 million round of investment in ReDent-Nova, developer of a self adjusting file (SAF), currently purposed for endodontic dentistry. Other investors include Maayan Ventures, Infinity's technology incubator, and private investors.

"The evolution of ReDent is vintage Infinity. We got involved early on, literally at the inception stage. It was clear from the start that the SAF is going to revolutionize dentistry, amongst other industries. We then proceeded to grow it within the Maayan incubator structure. Today, Infinity has renewed its ongoing support of ReDent, both financially and managerially. The next step will be the successful execution of market leadership," said Amir Gal-Or, Managing Director of Infinity Venture Capital.

The investment money announced today will be used to complete the development of the SAF, to support ReDent's clinical trials of the device and to see the company through the U.S. regulatory process.

Twenty-seven million root canal treatments are performed in the U.S. annually. Twenty-five million root canal treatments are performed yearly in Western Europe. Currently, root canal treatments require the use of a series of metal files varying in width, strength and diameter. This results in a time consuming procedure that does not always disinfect well, produce a complete cleaning, or satisfactorily remove the tooth's pulp. These are all necessary elements for a successful root canal.

"The creation of the SAF signifies the beginning of a new era in endodontic dentistry. The SAF enables a complete and successful root canal operation and with the use of only one file. The SAF improves the cleaning and the shaping of the root canal by adjusting itself to the formation of the root canal. The SAF follows the contours of the root canal and enlarges it to a greater dimension while maintaining its original shape. The benefit of these deliverables, among others, is less chair time for the dentist and the patient," explained Mr. Ofer Shalev, CEO of ReDent-NOVA.

In addition to dentistry, ReDent's self adjusting file is also being developed as generic technology for other purposes. Future usages could include flexible oil drilling and precise machinery tool applications.
