 Chapter have enthusiastically responded to a challenge issued by the organization to tap into the vast talents of its membership and put them to use in areas of need.

For the organization's First Annual Community Outreach Project, the New York City Chapter has announced the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, a five-story tenement building featuring recreated tenement apartments that portray the immigrant experience and lives of actual past residents, will be its beneficiary.

The project, for which CoreNet Global members have volunteered their time, resources and expertise, will be the renovation of the Museum's 1,000 s/f Visitors Center and Gift Shop located at 90 Orchard Street The name Orchard Street can refer to the following roads:
  • Orchard Street (Manhattan), New York City
  • Orchard Street (London)
  • Orchard Road, Singapore

New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of

The Lower East Side Tenement Museum's nationally landmarked historic tenement building at 97 Orchard Street was home to an estimated 7,000 people from more than 20 nations between 1863 and 1935.

Visitors to the museum can tour carefully researched and restored apartments and learn about the lives of actual past residents from the 1870s to 1930s. There are five restored apartments to date with an anticipated opening date in March 2005 of a sixth, that of an Irish Catholic Irish Catholics is a term used to describe people of Roman Catholic background who are Irish or of Irish descent.

The term is of note due to Irish immigration to many countries of the English speaking world, particularly as a result of the Irish Famine in the 1840s - 1850s,
 family who occupied an apartment during the Civil War.

The Visitors Center/Gift Shop project will allow for increased Museum income through ticket sales and enable the Museum to display merchandise that further educates the public on the immigrant experience.

Design and development construction drawings are due in June 2004 with an anticipated completion by Labor Day.
