Business Editors

ABINGDON, Oxfordshire--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 2002

Celoxica Limited has announced the appointment of John Molyneux

John Molyneux
as vice president of sales for North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. .

Based at Celoxica's Campbell office in California, Molyneux will oversee regional direct sales and channel activities with partners including Avnet Design Services and Wind River Systems, Inc. Molyneux will report to Dennis Nye, Celoxica's senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing.

Molyneux brings more than 17 years experience in senior sales and executive roles with Virtio, TransEDA and Exemplar Logic (a Mentor Graphics Mentor Graphics, Inc (NASDAQ: MENT) is a US-based multinational corporation dealing in electronic design automation (EDA) for electrical engineering and electronics, as of 2004, ranked third in the EDA industry it helped create.  Company). In addition, Molyneux has a proven track record of developing, winning and managing major accounts including Cisco, Infineon, Intel, NEC (NEC Corporation, Tokyo, www.nec.com, www.necus.com) An electronics conglomerate known in the U.S. for its monitors. In Japan, it had the lion's share of the PC market until the late 1990s (see PC 98).

"In the first 12 months of shipping DK1 Celoxica has won business with several major organizations in North America. I am here to help build on this success by meeting customer expectations and maintaining predictable growth for the region. Our customer base in North America is extremely impressive for a young company and I am looking forward to developing our market share further."

Molyneux continued: "I have been following Celoxica's progress for some time and its proposition is compelling," said Molyneux. "The question is whether the market is ready to take action and, listening to our customers, I believe the time is right. Reprogrammable systems-on-chips present a design object that is not a just a logic circuit, it is a system or subsystem on which compute-intensive data can be offloaded from processors and massively accelerated in parallel hardware. To exploit these systems effectively, hardware and software engineers need a shared environment for real time design collaboration to gain a better insight of where functionality can be placed to best effect. Celoxica's design suite not only provides a direct route from design to hardware implementation, it is also a workspace in which this knowledge sharing between the partitioned worlds of hardware and software engineering can happen."

"John has tremendous industry experience. He has also demonstrated a hands-on approach and an ability to lead from the front in winning new business," said Dennis Nye, vice president of worldwide sales for Celoxica. "We have a strong team in North America and John's ability to walk the talk shows he has the right attributes to lead them."

Prior to joining Celoxica, Molyneux was vice president, worldwide sales for TransEDA, Inc. and then Virtio Corporation. For six years, Molyneux worked for Mentor Graphics culminating in his appointment as vice president of North American North American

About Celoxica

Celoxica brings software methodologies to hardware design with tools that converge electronics design automation (EDA (1) (Electronic Design Automation) Using the computer to design, lay out, verify and simulate the performance of electronic circuits on a chip or printed circuit board. ) and embedded software development (ESD (1) (Electronic Software Distribution) Distributing new software and upgrades via the network rather than individual installations on each machine. See ESL. ) to improve designer productivity, address design skills shortages, and overcome system performance bottlenecks.

The company's design tools, and supporting products and services, introduce three aspects of software development to the hardware design process: a C-based language for rapidly describing the functionality rather than the underlying structural detail of the hardware; an integrated development environment See IDE.

integrated development environment - interactive development environment
(IDE) for hardware design with features such as symbolic debugging as well as synthesis that correlates to software compilation in that it is very fast; and libraries of predefined functions including access to peripherals and processors in hardware via common APIs.

Celoxica has alliances and partnerships with Altera Corporation, Avnet Design Services, Wind River Systems Inc. and Xilinx, Inc. The company is headquartered in Abingdon, UK, with additional offices in Campbell, California, USA; Yokohama, Japan; and Singapore.
