Industry Leading SDR Development Tool Now Available for Real Time Operating System.


SANTA BARBARA, Calif. & OTTAWA, Ontario -- The Communications Research Centre The Communications Research Centre (CRC) Canada is a scientific laboratory on Carling Avenue at Shirley's Bay in Ottawa.

Previous versions of the SCARI++ Software Suite included a Core Framework based on Linux. However, this new version, which can operate on an INTEGRITY-based platform, will more accurately reflect the way radio developers operate in the real world, using embedded real-time operating systems such as INTEGRITY.

The SCARI Software Suite provides companies with a complete and easy-to-use blueprint for designing and implementing SDR, which will help to ensure interoperability between SDR devices from different manufacturers. Montreal-based ISR Technologies was a key client pushing for the development of this new version of the SCARI++ Software Suite. The SCARI++ Software Suite is the latest generation of the SCARI product that began with SCARI-OPEN, an open source reference implementation of the SCA developed by CRC for the SDR Forum. Using lessons learned during the development and testing of SCARI-OPEN, SCARI++ was built from the ground up for real time systems. The SCARI-OPEN suite recently received a more than 97 per cent passing score in tests by the Joint Tactical Radio System Technology Laboratory (JTEL), the highest score ever received.
