Boole & Babbage Announces Inaugural Best Practices for S/390

Awards Program

Boole & Babbage(R), Inc. (Nasdaq:BOOL), today announced the 'Call for Entries' for its inaugural Best Practices for S/390 Performance and Automation Management Awards.

The awards will be judged by an independent panel of industry experts and IT leaders including: Bill Keyworth, GartnerGroup; Tom Oleson, IDC; Jerry King Jerry King is a cartoonist. He has received the National Cartoonist Society Magazine Gag Cartoon Award for 2001 and was nominated for their Gag Cartoon Award and Magazine Gag Cartoon Award for 2002. , Jerald King & Associates, Carl Greiner, META Group; and Cheryl Watson, Watson & Walker.

The entries will be evaluated on measurable achievements realized through S/390 systems management implementation and the associated automation strategy. Each entry will be reviewed based on critical success factors such as the planning and evaluation process, implementation strategies and the results realized to date.

The inaugural Best Practices in S/390 Awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with the 12th annual Boole & Babbage User Group (BBUG) conference at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States. , Nevada from June 6-10, 1999. This year's winning implementations will be showcased during the OS/390 Performance and Automation track at the conference.

BBUG '99 will feature new methods for IT managers to successfully develop and implement leading-edge IT management strategies through expert instruction and advice, first-hand business case studies and demonstrations.

Entry forms are now available on www.boole.com and the call for entries is open until April 12, 1999. The awards program is open to call companies who have deployed the Boole & Babbage MainView(R) solution in a Parallel Sysplex environment.
