Industrial College of the Armed Forces turns 80.

 prepares students to deal "with national security strategy and the resource component of national power, with special emphasis on acquisition and joint logistics, and their integration into national security strategy for peace and war," said Marine Maj. Gen. Frances C. Wilson Frances C. Wilson is a lieutenant general of the United States Marine Corps, and president of the National Defense University.

Gen. Wilson has earned four Master's degrees: in education from Pepperdine University, in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado, in
, ICAF's commandant.

ICAF hosted a symposium in June for industry and government featuring leading authorities in the field, including Thomas Barnett, author of "The Pentagon's New Maps;" Christopher Meyer, author of "It's Alive;" Laura Anderson, national partner in charge of strategy and development for KPMG KPMG Klynveld Peat Marwick Goerdeler (accounting firm)

 Australia; Eric Bonabeau, chief information officer at ICOSYSTEM, and David Davis and Thomas Bach, of NuTech Solutions Inc.

Students at ICAF include selected military officers and civilians who are preparing for senior leadership and staff positions. About 300 students attend the college every year. They are broken up into 20 seminars, with 15 military and five civilian students in each seminar. There are about 20 international fellows, personally invited by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is by law the highest ranking overall military officer of the United States military, and the principal military adviser to the President of the United States. . The school also accepts a selected number of non-government civilian students.
