Web-based EAM System Offers Rapid Implementation

and Cost-Efficient Support for El Paso Refinery

Indus International Inc. (NASDAQ: IINT), the leading provider of asset and customer management solutions, today announced the company has signed a new license to host a comprehensive enterprise asset management (EAM) solution for Western Refining Company of El Paso, Texas. By implementing the system in a Web-based environment via IndusHosting(TM), Western was able to bring the unparalleled EAM functionality of Indus PassPort(TM) online at its recently acquired refinery rapidly and without a large upfront capital investment.

Western purchased the refinery in El Paso from ChevronTexaco, which continues to buy gasoline from the refinery to help supply 325 Chevron-branded stations in three states. The refinery, which has a capacity of 107,000 barrels per day, required a hosted solution for a variety of reasons. First, the hardware on which the refinery's existing EAM system ran resides in the ChevronTexaco headquarters. Secondly, Western needed to put an EAM system in place rapidly to minimize disruptions to the refinery's operations.

"After acquiring the ChevronTexaco refinery, it was critical that we keep it running at or close to peak capacity with minimal disruption to our operations or finances.
