If a Plenary Indulgence is obtained, all punishment for sins committed is remitted.

If the conditions are not fully met (such as not being completely removed from attachment to every form of sin) they become Partial Indulgences. The Confession must be made within a week before or after the day on which the other conditions are fulfilled. Plenary Indulgences may be gained only once a day.

Partial Indulgences, given for any of a number of things, including any act of charity or any act of penance, remit part of the punishment; there are no other conditions.

Any indulgence may be gained only for oneself or Souls in Purgatory "In Purgatory" was the debut single by McCarthy released in 1985 on their own record label Wall Of Salmon Records. It was backed by "The Comrade Era" and "Something Wrong Somewhere". . One must be in the state of grace to gain any indulgence.
