The University Singers, Concert Choir and Repertoire Singers will perform folk songs from Scotland, Jamaica and Greece; an Appalachian song that pays homage to shape note singing; a traditional Welsh lullaby; Brazilian carols reflecting life in the rainforest; a traditional Zambian call to worship; `Insalata Italiana,' a 19th century piece for chorus, two violins and continuo continuo or basso continuo In Baroque music, a special subgroup of an instrumental ensemble. Barth specializes in the music of today. She is on the music faculty at Willamette University in Salem and is principal flutist of the Salem Chamber Orchestra. Garrison is assistant professor of flute at the University of Idaho The university was formed by the territorial legislature of Idaho on January 30, 1889, and opened its doors on October 3, 1892 with an initial class of 40 students. The first graduating class in 1896 contained two men and two women. . The recital starts at 7:30 p.m. in Beall Concert Hall. Tickets are $10, $8 for students and senior citizens, at the door. The concert concludes a day-long flute workshop, designed for all ages and abilities. Events begin at noon and include recitals, master classes and reading sessions. University Percussion Ensemble Sunday, Room 198 The University Percussion Ensemble will perform contemporary selections Sunday.
