Indomin Resources Limited - Busang North - Exploration Update.TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 19, 1996--INDOMIN RESOURCES (VSE See DOS/VSE. VSE - Virtual Storage Extended :IRL 1. (jargon, chat) IRL - In real life. Generally synonymous with f2f. 2. (language, robotics) IRL - Industrial Robot Language. ) Indomin Resources Limited is pleased to announce the following exploration progress on its Busang North gold project in Kalimantan, Indonesia. Exploration Highlights for the period May 16 through June 17, 1996. - Ground follow-up of favourable geological structures outlined by SAR (Segmentation And Reassembly) The protocol that converts data to cells for transmission over an ATM network. It is the lower part of the ATM Adaption Layer (AAL), which is responsible for the entire operation. See AAL. SAR - segmentation and reassembly and aeromagnetics aer·o·mag·net·ics n. (used with a sing. verb) The science of magnetic characteristics associated with atmospheric conditions. aer has led to the discovery of a Sintang volcanic complex in the southeastern portion of the Busang North Contract of Work (CoW) area. - The volcanic complex is coincident with drainages containing active alluvial gold workings. - The 3,800 line kilometre airborne magnetic survey over the entire CoW area has been completed and 700 line kilometres of in-fill aeromagnetics are now being flown over the identified volcanic structure at 200 metre line spacing. - Detailed stream sediment sampling, including BLEG (Bulk Leach Extractable Gold) analysis, is continuing systematically north through the CoW area. Busang North Gold Project Indomin 85 percent, PT Amsya Lyna 15 percent Indomin's Busang North gold project is a 6th Generation CoW covering 127,644 hectares (315,280 acres) located northeast along structure from the massive Busang gold discovery of Bre-X Minerals Limited. The tenement was applied for in July 1995, received Principle Approval from the Indonesian Government in October 1995 and was initialed by the Indonesian Department of Mines and Energy in March 1996. Field work has been underway since the middle of February. Sintang Volcanic Complex A ground traverse and mapping of one of the previously announced structures identified by Synthetic Aperture Radar Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) Radar, airborne or satellite-borne, that uses special signal processing to produce high-resolution images of the surface of the Earth (or another object) while traversing a considerable flight path. (SAR) imagery has led to the discovery of a Sintang volcanic complex in the southeast section of Indomin's Busang North CoW. The volcanic complex comprises dacites, andesites, fragmental frag·men·tal adj. 1. Fragmentary. 2. Geology Consisting of broken rock, coal, or ore moved from its place of origin. frag·men basalts and a large epiclastic breccia breccia: see conglomerate. breccia Coarse sedimentary rock consisting of angular or nearly angular fragments larger than 0.08 in. (2 mm). Breccia commonly results from processes such as landslides or geologic faulting, in which rocks are fractured. dipping south on the edge of a 2 kilometre in diameter circular depression identified in the SAR. The complex is coincident with a large anomaly identified by aeromagnetics. There are active alluvial gold workings in the drainages to the southeast of the volcanic complex, with local panners recovering abundant gold. Stream sediment, panned concentrate and BLEG analysis of samples taken at the same drainage locations and assays of rock chip samples of the volcanic complex are pending. Overlying overlying suffocation of piglets by the sow. The piglets may be weak from illness or malnutrition, the sow may be clumsy or ill, the pen may be inadequate in size or poorly designed so that piglets cannot escape. the volcanic complex are younger sediments including thin lignitic lig·nite n. A soft, brownish-black coal in which the alteration of vegetable matter has proceeded further than in peat but not as far as in bituminous coal. Also called brown coal. coal lenses and shales. These sediments may represent crater fill overlying a collapsed diatreme diatreme A volcanic pipe, filled with breccia, formed by a subterranean gaseous explosion. See illustration at batholith. . The volcanic complex lies at the intersection of a major regional northeast trending boundary fault structure and a large northwest trending transfer fault previously announced as the Kelinjau Trend. The northeast trending boundary fault passes near the Busang deposit in Bre-X's tenement to the south and strikes northeast through the eastern side of Indomin's CoW parallel to the Tertiary Kutai Basin margin. The Kelinjau Trend is parallel to the northwest trending structure hosting the Busang deposit to the south. "The discovery of this volcanic structure is extremely important for the prospectivity of our Busang North tenement," says Indomin's Senior Vice President of Exploration, Mr Lee Spencer Lee Spencer ( born Lee Alan Spencer-Todd in Emsworth Hampshire in 1963.) is an English electronic musician, music theorist and record producer. As a solo artist, he is probably best known as the creator of Cavewaves a collection of ambient new age albums. . "It now shows that we have both a similar geological as well as a structural setting to Bre-X's Busang deposit, underscoring our potential to host a major gold deposit at Busang North." A soil sampling program is now being planned over the volcanic complex for detailing of drilling targets for testing in the fourth quarter. Airborne Magnetic Survey The 3,800 line kilometre airborne magnetic survey over the entire CoW area has been completed at a line spacing of 400 metres. In-fill aeromagnetics totaling 700 line kilometres over the identified volcanic complex is now being undertaken at 200 metre line spacing. Geochemical Survey The detailed stream sediment geochemical survey is continuing north through the CoW. Sampling density comprises fourth order drainages which is justified by the tenement's location relative to the Busang deposit. -0- NOTE TO EDITORS: No stock exchange has approved or disapproved the information contained herein CONTACT: Indomin Resources Limited Paul Loudon, 416/955-9535 Chuck Forrest, 416/955-9535 |
