) has sold Special Situations Report newsletter to financial newsletter publisher Horizon Publishing Co. (Hammond, IN). The title was IIG's last print publication. No terms were given. IIG was represented by Jordan, Edmiston Group (New York).

The acquired newsletter, taglined "the newsletter for undiscovered stocks," is published monthly and focuses on identifying special situations, including corporate undervaluations, take-over candidates and companies with low P/E ratios. Horizon produces a range of related newsletters, including Dow Theory Dow Theory

A theory which says the market is in an upward trend if one of its averages (industrial or transportation) advances above a previous important high, it is accompanied or followed by a similar advance in the other.

IIG and its subsidiaries develop stock indexes to license to sponsors of financial products such as exchange- traded funds. In the third quarter of 2001, IIG sold Individual Investor magazine to Kiplinger's Washington Editors for $6.1 in cash and debt. The magazine was closed and its circulation list was merged with Kiplinger's Personal Finance Kiplinger's Personal Finance (KIP-lin-jerz) is a magazine that has been continuously published, on a monthly basis, from 1947 to the present day. It was the nation's first personal finance magazine, and prides itself on delivering "sound, unbiased advice in clear,  magazine. In November, 2001, IIG sold the individualinvestor.com Web site to Telescan, Inc. (Menlo Park, CA), the producer of WallStreetCity.com. Since the middle of last year, IIG has laid off over 90% of its staff.
