Indigo N.V. (NASDAQ: INDG), a leader in digital color printing systems, today has introduced the Platinum, a new Digital Offset Color press which achieves very high image quality and functionality at a base configuration price below $200,000. The new press is designed to bring the benefits of digital printing to commercial printers, trade shops, repro houses, in-plant and quick printers. The Company announced that the Platinum digital press is already shipping to customers worldwide.

Platinum's extremely high image quality is a result of Indigo's new laser writing head development called Image Tracking Technology (ITT). This breakthrough capability enables the imaging lasers to precisely lock on to the surface motion of the Photo Imaging Plate (PIP), creating high resolution images and highly uniform tints and solids. The image quality of Platinum is far superior to any other digital solution in its class.

Indigo's exclusive liquid ElectroInk enables Platinum to achieve true offset quality by replicating the surface texture of the substrate instead of masking it, as is the case with toner-based systems. ElectroInk also dries instantaneously, providing durable prints, which can be immediately folded without smearing, cracking or flaking. Platinum's deep, rich image quality is further enhanced with the option of adding two additional colors which can be spot colors, specially mixed colors or fluorescent colors.

Platinum can handle a wide variety of paper and non-paper stocks without degradation in image quality or productivity. Platinum's value and versatility are further enhanced by its optional five and six color printing capability, automatic duplexing and color personalization.

Designed for the moderate to high volume production of on-demand and personalized jobs, Platinum produces 2,000 full color, letter size/A4 sheets per hour. Under Indigo's uptrade program, the Platinum can be uptraded at any time to the higher volume Indigo UltraStream.
