Indiana Online Driver's License Renewals ''Going Through the Roof'' Due to Effective Marketing.INDIANAPOLIS -- Online driver's license Noun 1. driver's license - a license authorizing the bearer to drive a motor vehicle driver's licence, driving licence, driving license license, permit, licence - a legal document giving official permission to do something renewals have quickly become one of Indiana's most popular eGovernment services, thanks to a new marketing campaign. Last October, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles began mailing postcards to drivers about 60 days before their licenses expire that encouraged renewals through accessIndiana (www.IN.gov), the state's official Web site. In the two months after the mailings started, more than 10,000 license renewals were processed online -- a 140 percent increase over the previous year. "Clearly, we've found another innovative way to serve the needs of our customers," said Mary L. DePrez, Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles. "Online renewals are going through the roof. We're hearing from many customers who didn't know they could renew driver's licenses online, not just vehicle registrations. They love the option of making secure transactions over the Internet. There's an added bonus, too, because more people using the online service means shorter lines at license branches, which reduces waiting time for customers." The postcard reminder campaign was created through a partnership between accessIndiana and the BMV BMV Bolsa Mexicana de Valores BMV Bureau of Motor Vehicles BMV Bundesministerium für Verkehr (German: Federal Ministry of Transport) BMV Below Market Value BMV Brome Mosaic Virus BMV Bedside Medication Verification . An online survey of more than 2,000 citizens who used the Internet for BMV transactions revealed widespread satisfaction with Indiana's eGovernment services: --A majority of those who recently renewed driver's licenses online learned of the service through the postcard notices. --Customers rate the service 4.9 on a scale of one to five for being convenient, timely and easy to use. --97 percent of respondents In the context of marketing research, a representative sample drawn from a larger population of people from whom information is collected and used to develop or confirm marketing strategy. would highly recommend the service to others.
