DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 19, 1996--EDS has selected Incite's Conversational Media(TM) system to be part of its sophisticated technology and services offerings to the U.S. military and other government agencies.

"This is an exciting opportunity to prove our technology's worth in an entirely new market," said David Tucker, Incite's general manager. "Government and military agencies are undergoing an extensive modernization of communications systems In telecommunication, a communications system is a collection of individual communications networks, transmission systems, relay stations, tributary stations, and data terminal equipment (DTE) usually capable of interconnection and interoperation to form an integrated whole.  and our agreement with EDS will allow us to capitalize on Cap´i`tal`ize on`

The ULANA II program is a broad-reaching plan designed to upgrade and modernize military and associated networks with standards-based, off-the-shelf technology.

Media will be included in the ULANA II Approved Products List, which allows the military and other government agencies to purchase the equipment at a pre-approved price without going through exhaustive bidding processes.

Inclusion on the list also certifies that Incite's Conversational Media meets the contract's applicable standards for operations and interoperability. Conversational Media is deployable in any network environment with only minor alterations to existing infrastructure.

Conversational Media will allow users to not only perform standard point-to-point but also allows the parties to treat a video call like a standard phone call. The video call can be placed on hold, transferred, forwarded, held in queue or recorded.

The system's advanced collaborative computing, video playback and image transfer capabilities will allow high level officers to securely share files, and access high-quality recorded video and images for any desktop computer. The system will allow user agencies to reduce travel costs and more effectively share information across mission-critical strategic networks.
