InTANK Introduces OTIS-G -On-Stream Tank Inspection System for Gasoline-.Business Editors LAUREL, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 2002 InTANK(TM) is pleased to introduce OTIS-G, an intrinsically safe robot designed and certified specifically for inspection of aboveground storage tanks (ASTs) containing gasoline, naphtha naphtha (năp`thə, năf`–), term usually restricted to a class of colorless, volatile, flammable liquid hydrocarbon mixtures. , diesel fuel, jet fuel and kerosene kerosene or kerosine, colorless, thin mineral oil whose density is between 0.75 and 0.85 grams per cubic centimeter. A mixture of hydrocarbons, it is commonly obtained in the fractional distillation of petroleum as the portion boiling off . OTIS-G allows ASTs to remain full of product during cleaning and inspection, saving all the downtime costs and lost revenue. Mike Scott, President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. of InTANK Services, Inc. stated "What excites us with the OTIS-G is that it extends our core business of robotic API 653 inspections into a new range of products - highly volatile liquids with low flash points." Deployed through the top manway, the OTIS-G uses InTANK's proprietary navigation and ultrasonic data collection systems. OTIS-G also incorporates an advanced camera system used to visually inspect primary and secondary seals of internal floating roof (IFR IFR abbr. instrument flight rules ) tanks. "We believe that this system has the ability to dramatically reduce the frequency that IFR tanks are taken out-of-service," Scott said. OTIS-G inspections meet API 653 guidelines and help an owner comply with the Ka, Kb, MACT MACT Maximum Achievable Control Technology MACT Maximum Available Control Technology MACT Men of All Colors Together MACT Minnesota Association of Community Theatres MACT Maulana Azad College of Technology (Bhopal, India) , NFPA NFPA National Fire Protection Association NFPA National Food Processors Association NFPA National Fluid Power Association NFPA National Federation of Paralegal Associations (Edmonds, WA) , etc. regulations for vapor emissions. OTIS-G was developed and manufactured by InTANK. The robot provides a complete assessment of the AST's integrity, summarized in a comprehensive engineering report, at tremendous cost savings to tank owners when compared to out-of-service inspections. Avoiding tank downtime helps maintain revenue flow and, greatly reduces safety and environmental risks associated with internal inspections. The system has been certified to meet US and Canadian intrinsically standards (Entela and EntelaC). InTANK offers a suite of robotic solutions including: OTIS to clean and inspect ASTs with light and middle distillates; OTIS-G to inspect large ASTs with highly volatile products; OTIS-G Probe to inspect smaller tanks containing hazardous chemicals; OTIS-HD for heavier products such as #6 and light crude; Quick-Look(TM) to inspect secondary seals on IFRs and internal tank structures; and, Scavenger(TM) for lagoon, basin and pond cleaning.
