In-line die for silicone.

The 500 Series is said to address industry's long-standing search for a precision silicone extrusion. A special low-volume, thin-wall (as minute as 0.003") designed crosshead cross·head

The term initially referred to the company that made the products (the "original" manufacturer), but eventually became widely used to refer to the organization that buys the products and  tubing to large heads with up to five layers or multistrip capability.

The company's engineers are said to have designed in a host of benefits to the Series 500, including a unique split manifold manifold

All of the company's heads offer a patent-pending Feather-touch adjustment in the die holder, a cartridge-style ball assembly that does not require the loosening loosening /loo·sen·ing/ (loo´sen-ing) freeing from restraint or strictness.

of retaining screws to make adjustments. Fixed center can be added to any of the company's heads. Additional benefits are said to include the company's Seal Right System, a positive seal which eliminates leakage between deflectors, along with easy self-alignment that reduces operator error during assembly. The Series 500 flow system encompasses a one- to five-layer capability, and this tooling also adapts to any existing extruder layout.

The 500 Series is said to have been well received by the medical/OEM industry, because of the built-in technology available to users. For example, the multi-layer designed head handles up to five layers and also has a multi-stripe capability for an internal or external stripe.
