In-Stat/MDR Appoints New Director of Wireless Research.

High-tech market research firm, In-Stat/MDR (http://www.instat.com), announces the appointment of Clint Wheelock to the position of director of wireless research. In this position, Wheelock will manage In-Stat/MDR's coverage of wireless markets, including service providers, wireless data, mobile devices, wireless infrastructure and wireless components.

Prior to joining In-Stat/MDR, Wheelock was director of product management at Qwest Wireless, with general manager responsibilities for all of the company's consumer and business mobile wireless product lines, including access plans, subscriber equipment, voice calling features and mobile data features. In this role he was also responsible for hardware and software vendor relationships, wireless channel distribution strategy, regulatory implementation (E-911, WLNP, CALEA), roaming agreements, and product development for mobile data/multimedia applications and Wi-Fi/WLAN/fixed wireless broadband.

In previous positions at Qwest Communications, Wheelock led e-commerce strategy for the company's consumer markets division as well as product management and new product development for Qwest Broadband Services, including the VDSL, Omaha Broadband and Virtual MDU product lines. Prior to Qwest, he also worked in integrated broadband strategy at GTE Corp. and has a diverse background in management consulting and private investment banking for startup and emerging growth companies in a variety of industries.

Wheelock earned a B.A. in history from Washington & Lee University and an M.B.A. in telecommunications management from the University of Dallas.
