1916: Frances Rose Shore, later known as Dinah, is born in Winchester, Tenn.

1943: As her singing career hits full stride, Shore marries actor George Montgomery. The couple eventually settles near Palm Springs in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

1951: The Dinah Shore '' Dinah Shore (born Frances Rose Shore February 29, 1916 - February 24, 1994) was an American singer, actress and television personality. She was most popular during the Big Band era of the 1940s and 1950s.  Show debuts, variations of which run through 1980.

1972: Shore lends her name to the Colgate-Dinah Shore Winner's Circle win·ner's circle

1992: Lesbian promoters Mariah Hanson, Sandy Sachs, and Robin Gans team for their first joint-venture Dinah Shore Weekend events.

1994: Dinah Shore passes away at the age of 77. Her name is officially linked to the golf tournament until 1999.

2006: Hanson splits with Sachs and Gans, creating competing lesbian event rosters.
