In memoriam.

We regret to inform our subscribers of the death of Professor Jonathan I. Charney on September 7, 2002. While serving as a professor at Vanderbilt University Law School from 1972 to 2002, Professor Charney distinguished himself as a leading international legal scholar. Among his numerous accomplishments, Professor Charney was the co-Editor in Chief of the American Journal of International Law, and in 1998 he was selected to deliver a series of lectures at The Hague Academy of International Law, an honor extended to preeminent scholars in international law. In addition, despite his many commitments, Professor Charney was a member of the Board of Advisors for the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. On behalf of our Journal members past and present, as well as the entire Transnational Legal Studies Program, we would like to express our appreciation for the significant endeavors and contributions of Professor Charney.
